The Cyprus Automobile Association (CAA) is a non-profit organisation governed by an elected council. It was established in 1933 with the aim of offering assistance to the private motorist, in Cyprus as well as when travelling abroad, and to promote the interests of car owners in general. The CAA is a member of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT).
The CAA helps its members in Cyprus with information and active assistance. It offers the same assistance to foreign visitors who belong to clubs affiliated to the FIA. CAA members seeking advice can, as a rule, contact the CAA offices.
The CAA is the organiser of the Cyprus Rally and the National Rally Championship. For the Cyprus Rally official website of the current, as well as past events, please visit www.cyprusrally.com.cy. You can also find information on other events, such as local championship races, in the motorsport page.
In our effort to provide the best possible service to the motorist, we are continually adding relevant information to our site. Information such as road maps of the island and regulations regarding the importing of a car to Cyprus can be found in the information page.
Road Assistance
This consists of a 24-hour, 365 days a year road patrol and breakdown service. Minor repairs are effected on the spot. For major ones the car is towed to the nearest town where there is a service station of the car's agent in Cyprus. All this is free for CAA members and members of FIA affiliated clubs, on presentation of a valid membership card. If the member wishes to have his/her car towed from one town to another within Cyprus, they shall have to pay a service fee. However, the amount charged by the CAA is well below that charged by commercial towing companies.
Insurance
The Club, in cooperation with prominent insurance companies, offers various kinds of insurance policies at competitive rates. Car rental is also offered at favourable rates.
Travel and Other Services
These consist of travel agency services, insurance services, hotel bookings, car rentals, technical and legal advice, and touring publications. The CAA issues the Carnet de Passage en Douane for travel to those countries still requiring it. Members of FIA-affiliated clubs temporarily visiting Cyprus, may make use of the travel and other services, on presentation of a valid membership card. In addition CAA can help with discounts on air/sea tickets, hotel rates. Visitors should also note that there are quite a few camping grounds in Cyprus.
